Photographing the beauty in the mundane

“My visual journal” - Entry #2:

When there is not much time for an adventure in the woods, marshes or moors, I take my dog for a walk nearby where we live. The city of Hamburg is one of the greenest cities in Europe. It has a lot of green spaces like parks, gardens and beaches. Especially in the neighborhood I live. I can step outside my door and can be at the beach or in a park in under ten minutes. I am thankful for that. I couldn’t imagine living in a city, where I wouldn’t have these little green retreats nearby.

So this week I am taking you along on a walk down to the city beach along the Elbe River. Enjoy!

I started “My visual journal” as an addition to my regular newsletter to share the photos I have taken during the week on my walks. The overall idea is “more photos, less words”. It will be send out every other week, alternating with my regular newsletter which is about different topics, but mainly about art, photography and the creative process.
