It is a beautiful morning as my dog Ben and I head out on our walk. The sun is shining. The air is still pleasingly cool. Late summer is slowly, but surely approaching Hamburg. Not only are the mornings cooler, but the air feels and smells different too and it gets darker so much earlier again. We even had the first foggy morning a few days ago (which I missed, because I didn't feel well).
Nature’s growth has clearly slowed down and the colors slowly turning from green to the beautiful colors of autumn. The chestnut trees are usually the first to turn the color of their leafy canopies here.
We walk through our neighborhood towards our favorite park. Because the weather is so nice, we decide to go for a longer walk than usual and take a little detour to the Elbe river. It’s high tide (the Elbe is connected to the North Sea therefore we get the impact of the tide here too) and the beach is gone, but Ben is dipping his paws into the water anyway.
After a short break, we continue on to the next park. Not many people frequent this park, so we are almost alone except for a few geese and ducks who are enjoying themselves on the little pond. Our path leads us to an open meadow with a little, wild orchard with lots of apple trees. The branches of the trees are hanging heavy, loaded with fruits ready to be harvested.
Leaving the wild orchard behind we eventually arrive back in the park we initially headed to. After taking a last stroll here we slowly go back home again.
The photos are exactly in the same order, as I made them. I hope you enjoyed following along. And yes, I broke my rule of “more photos, less words” and I hope you don’t mind!
I started “My visual journal” as an addition to my regular newsletter to share the photos I have taken during the week on my walks. The overall idea is “more photos, less words”. It will be send out every other week, alternating with my regular newsletter which is about different topics, but mainly about art, photography and the creative process.
If you are enjoying My morning muse, you can support me by subscribing to my newsletter, liking the post, and sharing it with friends. It would mean the world to me!
X,
Susanne
Nice post, Susanne. Do you use an analog camera or a filter on your digital? I like the light and color in your photos. Very old school.
Lovely work! Just the right touches of processing, never overdoing it.
