After I shared my first newsletter with you the other day, I had a couple of people directly subscribe to it. Thank you so much for your interest in following me on this journey. And although some of you already know me, I feel like I should introduce myself again and share a bit more what this newsletter is all about. So here we go…
Hi! I am Susanne, a photographer and mixed-media artist from Hamburg, Germany. All I have learned about art and photography over the past 15 years, I taught myself and I am always curious about new techniques and finding new ways to express myself through my art.
I am also a crazy dog lover, who loves to go on long hikes in nature - so be aware to find the occasional photo of my dog Ben on here. He loves to model when we are outdoors and I have my camera on me.
So, how will this newsletter work?
I never really intended to write a newsletter, because I never felt confident about my writing - neither in English nor in my native language German. I had a little blog for a while until Instagram came around and I fell in love with and enjoyed it ever since. A couple of month ago Instagram made some major changes, which I personally didn’t like and so I decided to spend my time and energy elsewhere. This was the time when I discovered a couple of fellow artists promoting their newsletters here on Substack. What I like about the format is, that I can write or share whatever I want, without any algorithm or censorship.
My idea for this newsletter is to share my photography and other creative excursions, mixed with short writings about things I find worth sharing. The content may vary from week to week. I’m not even sure how frequently I will write anything. We will see how it goes. I see this newsletter as a space to share my thoughts and images and ideally get to interact with you. But most of all, I want this to be interesting and fun for you and for me. And if you have anything you would like to know or see on here, please don’t hesitate to shoot me a message!
If this sounds interesting to you and you don’t want to miss any updates from me, please consider to subscribe.
Your written English is great, please feel confident about your writing.
So glad I found you on here Suzanne. What I love about Substack is how easily it is to find interesting creative people who love to share what they do. Also how as a reader you get such insights into the various creative processes and oftentimes find inspiration. I’m looking forward to seeing your posts and newsletters. I’m taking a lot from your approach as well to Substack. I tend to put too much pressure on myself to ‘do’ and when I am not ‘doing’ I feel I’ve let myself down. But on here I’m hoping to do as you explain - just see how it goes and post as and when seems right. Thanks for sharing.
