Thanks for sharing this lovely read and visual reminders that "not everything is as flawless and perfect as you might think." And it doesn't sound silly — some amount of need for external validation is human. Knowing "it's not just me" is such a good feeling.
Ahh Gossage 🤍 Even in colour his images don't loose their power. You might enjoy the project Areal by Joachim Brohm. If you visit his website it is very generous with images (the book is great, but hard to come by, I got lucky with a fairly affordable used copy from a university). Gossage was definitely a huge inspiration on my last project from Montreal, especially with the depth of field elements.
Such a great format to discover new photo books!
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed this one. It is one of m favorite books right now!
Excellent post, Susanne!
I too am a photo book collector, but I don't have The Thirty Two Inch Ruler.
Will get it.
You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. If you go to the Steidl (the publisher) website you can have another look at the book.

Thank you, Daphne. Glad you enjoyed the read. And yes, it is good to know if it not just me.

Haha, „even in color“ made me laugh! But I know what you mean. I will check out Brohm. Thanks for the tip!
Wonderful! Love Gossage.
Thank you, Zachary! He is one of my favorites. Especially after seeing his color work.
