Really great information and inspiration here, a great reference and worth the extra read! If anyone is thinking about purchasing a zine from Susan, do it! They are great quality and content, and arrive quickly and in good condition clear across the pond. I'll just say as well that book binding is a thing and there are probably groups in your area that do creative book binding, you can apply this to zines I would think. Thanks Susan!
Thank you for your kind words, Paul! I am so happy you like the zines you have from me. Interesting idea with the local bookbinding workshop! Thank you!
I've been exploring photo zine/book making and love learning how others go about their craft. Thank you so much for sharing your process. Your photographs are beautiful and zines really inspiring. xo
This is awesome! Thank you. I am definitely going to use this as a resource. I love that you don’t have everything perfectly figured out. I am sure there are many ways, but this is inspiring me!
Oh my! Thank you, Susanne. This is an amazing collection of the ways in which you have been creative. This is more than generous and so helpful to those of us ready to dip a toe in the water.
You have been more than generous in your response and resources here. Particularly because it took so much time and effort for you to figure it out for yourself. I hope you know how much I appreciate your sharing and I hope folks here do as well. Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback, Andi! Your support is acknowledged, felt and appreciated! 🙃 I just hope people find it helpful and are less intimated by the whole process after reading this.
You are welcome. The printer - I have this small portable one and a big photo printer. I usually print them in a small size. But before I had these printers, I would get my prints from a lab or drugstore. The zines I am talking about in this newsletter are one of a kind. If I make several copies I usually go to a professional printer (local or online).
You are very welcome, Joe. I hope it helps. Yes, it's LR Classic. I can't share a screenshot. But I just checked and the cloud service doesn't have this option. Sorry...
Wow, what creativity.
Really great ideas and executed so well. Nice job.
Thank you, Paul!

Thank you Susanne, so generous with your information. I love that this was not a tutorial, just inspiration based on your experience.
Thank you, James! So many roads to Rome. Or book making! 😉

That was the idea - showing that is there no one way, but many different ones and all are right!

Beautiful inspiration. Vielen Dank. Just wonder about your printer. That is a lot of photo printing.

this is gold!
Awe, thank you! It is very long. But I hope it will be helpful.
Great post, Susanne, thanks for giving this insight in your process
You are welcome, Marcel! Thank you for reading.
Love that your post is encouraging experimenting rather than a step by step tutorial!
Thanks, Youssef! It would be rather difficult because every zine is different and the idea behind them too.
Amazing! Thanks for putting this together. It provides an incredible frame for thinking this through.
One question - bookmaking tab in Lr? What Lr do you use? Classic?
I use the web . cloud version and I've not yet seen a bookmaking tab.

Thanks for confirming.
