Hi Susanne - lovely images, tones and light - and the square format works very well. Your images bring back fond memories of walking along the beaches of the Nordsee when we lived in Hamburg. I wish you and yours einen Guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr.

Danke, Jon! I live in Hamburg and I am glad that we are fairly close to the sea!

Beautiful photographs and sorry you missed the snow in Denmark which I’d love to document myself.

Thank you, Nancy, I would have loved to see the landscape there covered in a white blanket. But I am sure they will be another time!

I visited Denmark for the first time in July and fell in love with it. Must visit in winter next time.

Fall is beautiful too when the heather is in full blossom. Winter is really quiet, which is beautiful.

My two most beautiful, calming, places on the planet, beautiful beaches, and miles and miles of clouds , under the wings of an airplane.

I am at peace.

I prefer the woods over the clouds! ;-)

These photos remind of some beautiful, windswept beaches that I have been to in the UK.

A few people already had similar associations. I might have to visit the UK some time!

What a beautiful set of black and white images! The close-up textures help evoke the "feeling" of the beach. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

Great photos. As a begginer I always think b&w is a type of photography difficult to aproach.

Expand full comment

Thank you, Pedro! I felt the same way about b&w. But all it takes is practice and to train your eye. If you have a camera with a b&w mode (so that you can see the image in b&w on your screen or in the viewfinder) it is also of tremendous help. Or you use phone to practice. They usually have the option to take photos in B&W. It is easier than you think!

Just beautiful images! I really like the tones in your images. So calming and peaceful.

Thank you, Manuela! The weather was pretty dull, but it really helps with the mood and the tones.
