Thank you for putting this list together Susanne. If I ever attempt making a zine this will be my go to post. Also you make such beautiful zines… have always admired that.
Thank you, Shital! My idea was to have my favorite ones all here in this post to everyone to come back to or maybe even add their own in the comment section.
OMDs! I am so super glad I found you. I have two strands of photography I do and I’m thinking how can I creatively present each one and there is so much useful info here! I’ll be spending quite some time looking through these links and making notes. I have done my own zine before but it’s nothing compared to here. And your zines are so beautiful. Your post has given me the next bit of the puzzle
I needed to get on with my ideas. Thank you so much for sharing!
Aw thanks so much for the mention Susanne, really appreciate it!
I'm glad you didn't jump straight into the over saturated trend of how-to and tutorials. I agree, there is already enough out there available in every possible language.
What is important I think is to show the creative process and where the ideas for our work originate. That, I find more inspiring and valuable than a step by step guide.
When I started my Newsletter I had one rule set for myself - I would never do these „How to“ posts, I won‘t tell what or what not to do. I only can say what works for me and why I do what I do. And I will keep it that way. Everybody needs to find their own way. If I can be of an inspiration that is wonderful, but I definitely won‘t tell people how they have to do something. It is not because I keep things secret, but I often don‘t feel like an expert on those things. And as you said, there are enough people out there who write or make video and tell people How to do this and How to do that…
Thank you for assembling this for us Susanne. I will bookmark this for when I'm ready. Your work is so beautiful - I can only hope I'm able to do something nice when the time comes.
This is fab, Susanne, and so much food for thought! I’ll pick over these links in the next few days. Thanks so much for curating such a cracking resource x
